Weight loss myths

Myth, indeed a universal concept that pervades many regions of knowledge. Health and dieting have them too, no wonder! Weight loss tips and myths have been known far and wide for some time, because it is one of the areas where innumerable searches are done around the globe. Whether you are a man or a woman, you wish to have a healthy and lean body, fat free and graceful. It is the desire of even vagabonds. It is achievable but how much easily? What is a healthy and promising diet, and what are the many misconceptions of exercise. That’s what I am about to discuss here, through this blog post of mine. Please read on and comment. Thanks.

Weight loss is a concept that came into existence fairly early, and with a good cause. You want to look sexy, graceful and attractive. That’s the desire of every single person, age no bar! And the belief is that you can achieve this graceful body shape and slimness through the so called weight loss exercises, aerobic dances (aerobics) and some dieting. Is that true at all? Well may or may not be, that’s the answer. The reason and the most governing truth is this: You need have NO HOPE of WEIGHT LOSS if your daily calorie intake is more than the amount you burn everyday through exercise or whatever.

Yes, that’s how simple it can be, if you don’t burn more calories than you take in every day, you will grow fatter, period.

Myth number one: You cannot achieve weight loss by simple exercises.

Yes, simple exercises only help you tighten your muscles and strengthen them below the layer of fat that gets built up anyway.

So, how to achieve slimness? As I said, by burning calories. That simply means you have to do much more exercise if you eat much. And every work you do is wasted if soon after finishing your exercise you go and gorge even more. You take much more calorie intake, and that can potentially destroy your health through fat and cholesterol build up in the future. So, even a hundred sit-ups, push ups and dumbbell exercises on the top of your daily race in the morning (jogging is what I mean) can’t do you minutest help other than that it will slow down your fat buildup.

So, the only way for that graceful curve you desired is healthy dieting. Diet well, eat less that’s what I mean to say. Eat less, and you are better off. But never eat less like I ate when I was working in a city away from my home, staying in a hostel. I was eating so less that I would almost have died. My health was going down than building up. I was losing weight without any bit of exercise. So, what I say is you need to eat HEALTHY, but less. And never let your health be down through your eating less. And do regular exercise about half an hour a day. You want to lose your love handles anyway, right, Pal?

Love Handles (some call it spare tire)

This is the most ungraceful part on someone’s body. I would be very concerned about it if I find it when I feel around my girlfriend’s waist. And so would she be when she finds it around mine. But for sure, I lost much of my love handles when I was in Chennai. I was very lean and my stomach was very much flattened, as I wanted it to be. But my cheeks also went in, and my biceps were getting damaged. That’s not very much healthy, right.

You know for sure, how much difference it is from a fat old back from a back like something you would love. And everyone desires just that. You want to look nice when you go to beaches in scanty dress, and if someone instead of admiring you, laughs at you?

So, love handles form the biggest concern of people perhaps. It is more important than money for some people. You would have loved to die than live with fat around your waist.

Belly flesh

Your belly is up? How inelegant it looks, you noticed? How to lose it all and get a great belly. How to get cuttings? I see you shouting “Crunches.” And pat I say: “Bullshit!”

Myth Number two: Crunches won’t depress your belly.

Yes, no crunch exercise would help you reduce your belly. I assure you. I have done that and have done a million times without any bit of difference. But I don’t advise you to leave crunches. Don’t stop doing it, it can make your belly muscles tighter and stronger for sure. But you will never notice the firmness of your belly outside, it will still be that old fat belly. So, your aim is not only to make your muscles tighter, right? You also want to show your slim trim belly to the world. How to do that? Only diet, people, dieting can help you for that with regular exercise as I said earlier, and nothing else.

Myth Number three: Telebrands weight loss shows how much do they help??

I have watched some Telebrands shows, with products like “Slim King”, or “Ab King Pro” or something like that. And the people are hoarding to by these products. They order overnight at the shown toll free number and get the products shipped through express delivery the next day. And they start sitting on it, for three minutes daily. And without any results whatsoever. I hope they advertise what is truth. I never saw someone saying about dieting with these exercises. Never have I. But they get a lot of endorsements from the media tycoons and famous fitness experts, film stars and what not.

But it all is for nothing. A very tight scam campaign you could call it. Something that is not true getting brilliant endorsements from many celebrities. Don’t buy them, I tell you, don’t ever. They are good-for-nothings. They would never help you lose your love handles or your fat belly.

Myth Number four: Spot reduction??

Spot weight reduction?? What is that? I never heard of it. And it doesn’t exist either. You cannot reduce your fat or lose your love handles in a matter of days. It takes dedicated exercise for months and months sometimes about one or two years. You have seen Shah Rukh Khan in Om Shanti Om, you know how long he did dedicated exercise to get to that body? About six months or so. And he wasn’t that fat six months ago. Still it took him six months to get to his best shape ever. So, people, spot reduction doesn’t exist and if someone says about it, please ignore it. It is never extant.

The table shows body mass Index. This is a measure of how much healthy your body can be. A BMI of 20 to 24 is desirable to most. But one beyond that is overweight. And one above thirty is obese, you need treatment!

Carbohydrates, Fat, Proteins, and Vitamins and Minerals are the only major nutrients you need, and you need to take it in a balanced manner in accordance to your age for a healthy diet. You never take in cholesterol, that is generated inside your body with the essential nutrients you take in in the form of these four major components.
